We are the Laity, Religious and Clergy of Sacred Heart Parish within the Diocese of Galveston-Houston. We are a Catholic Community of more than 2,500 families in Conroe, Texas, the geographic center of Montgomery county.

We are 1,000 square miles of rural, urban, and resort areas with Willis to the north, The Woodlands to the South, Montgomery on the west, and Liberty County on the east.

We are a community representing a virtual kaleidoscope of interests as well as economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. One third of our parishioners are of Hispanic heritage. We are a community represented by a variety of age groups with the largest concentration in the 30 to 50 year old category. While not a neighborhood church in the conventional sense, we are family oriented. Our membership is currently growing at the rate of about 150 families per year.

We believe that our parish ought to be a vital force in the lives of people in this area, in our diocese, and even in the world.

We believe that we are to live in the world but not of the world; we live in the world to sanctify it and make the reign of God present.

We believe that we should grow in knowledge of the Gospel in order to strengthen us in love and so better serve the spiritual and physical needs of all.

We believe that the resources necessary to accomplish our mission are in our midst. Above all, we believe that each of us is a gifted member, whose gift will be recognized, treasured, and placed at the service of the reign of God.

We believe that the greatest source of God's grace comes from the faithful celebration of the Eucharistic liturgy and other sacraments.

We believe that we should ascertain and respond to the strengths and weaknesses of our parish represented by its geographical and physical characteristics.

We are called to provide a dignified and warm place for the members of our parish community, to gather in worship every day of the year.

We are called to welcome into our parish all of those who come to us in search of Truth and Light, regardless of background, economic status, cultural achievements, or past sins. Our ministry should include the poor and those with special needs, as well as the unborn, the youth, the young adults, and the elderly.

We are called to give strength to the family unit and to develop the relationship of family to church, remembering the words of Pope John Paul II to "Transform the whole fabric of human social living with the values of the Gospel".

We are called to live fully our faith not only through liturgical worship, but through hospitality, generous stewardship, and evangelization...for the greater honor and glory of God.
