Does your Sacred Heart student need help in a certain subject? Maybe they just need someone to get them through that math homework you haven't seen since you were there age. Whatever the case may be, our Life Teen youth want to help your child succeed by offering free tutoring every Wednesday from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the school library.
Our tutors are all high school students with good grades and a genuine desire to help your child! In addition, the school teachers allow us to borrow books from the classrooms and often give tips on how we can best support our students in their various academic struggles. Since this ministries commencement at the beginning of the 2012-13 academic school year, we've seen a beautiful relationship growing between our high school teens and the school kids they tutor, as well as positive results in the grade books and in the opinions of the teachers. Please consider signing up your child for this opportunity to grow not only in knowledge but in unity as a parish family.
To sign up, please submit the participation agreement and fill out our quick questionnaire (see below) so that we can serve your child's needs to the best of our ability. Then just let us know you are coming by e-mailing David Mims preferably at least one day in advance of attendance. Students are called to the library after school. We ask that parents come to the library to sign out their child at 4:30 p.m. If your child attends ASAP please let us know so that we can escort them to the proper facility afterwards.
If at any time you have questions or concerns, please let us know! Your feedback makes our whole program stronger!
